George B. Bickford
FOUNDER / ATTORNEY
Originally from Massachusetts, Attorney Bickford has made Connecticut his home for the past 40 years. A graduate of Harvard University and the University of Connecticut School of Law, he opened this office as a solo practitioner in 1992. Attorney Bickford began his practice in 1974 at Neighborhood Legal Services, Inc., where he was the director of the Senior Citizen's Law Project for North Central Connecticut and was a pioneer in the practice of elder law in Connecticut. For many years, Attorney Bickford has been a highly acclaimed guest speaker before bar, medical, social service and public groups on Social Security issues, Medicaid, and Estate Planning for the elderly with long term medical needs. He played an integral role in passing legislation on behalf of Medicaid applicants in Connecticut, and he is widely regarded as an advocate for the rights of elders. He has served for many years on the Board of Directors of the Alzheimer's Association Connecticut Chapter, for which he provides informal counsel and assistance. He is also a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys and served as the co-chair of the Elder Law Section of the Hartford County Bar Association. Attorney Bickford has had a lifelong passion for music and for several years was the harmonica player for a local band.

Sally Kirtley
ATTORNEY
A Connecticut native and a graduate of the University of Connecticut and the Western New England College of Law. She worked for Neighborhood Legal Services for thirteen years, and has been specializing in Probate and related matters for the past ten years. Attorney Kirtley has volunteered for the Alzheimer’s Association and was selected as a “Women’s Champion” for her efforts. She enjoys directing Bridge tournaments and visiting her grandchildren as much as possible. In her spare time, she likes to travel.

Nathan Genest
ATTORNEY
Attorney Nathan Genest grew up in Burlington, Connecticut. He attended the University of Connecticut where he graduated with a B.A. in History from UConn’s honors program. In 2022 he graduated with honors from the University of Connecticut School of Law. While at UConn Law he participated in the Elder Law Clinic, advising low-income individuals and assisting them in their estate planning. Attorney Genest joined the Law Offices of George B. Bickford, LLC as a third-year law student where he worked as a legal assistant until his admission to the Connecticut Bar. Outside of the office he enjoys playing golf, hiking, and skiing.
